What to do while F1 is on break

After a seemingly endless run of back-to-back races, Formula 1 has called it a day for the next month or so, with the second half of the season only starting at the end of August. Here’s what you can do to keep yourself occupied while the drivers are basking in exotic holiday destinations and basically living it up in luxury:

Watch Moto GP

Granted, it’s not quite as close this year as Formula 1, though the racing is extremely entertaining – riders are able to overtake (and be overtaken) several times per lap, and thus there is plenty of action during races. The bikes are ludicrously fast too – check out this flyby from a few years ago:

A bonus for Honda fans: you get to see them win in almost every race…

Gran Turismo Sport

Polyphony Digital announced the addition of the Mercedes W08 F1 car (Hamilton’s world championship-winning car from 2017) to Gran Turismo Sport, the popular racer on PS4. The timing couldn’t have been better, as F1 fans will be itching to get their fix in any way they can. See below!

Sadly, only the W08 is available and none of the other 2017 cars, and you are not able to alter the livery of the car (like every other car in the game)… So you can’t paint it red and pretend you’re Seb or Kimi…

And sure, there’s the official F1 2018 game that’s coming out, but unfortunately this only happens on the 24th of August – just in time for F1’s return.

Premier League Football

As someone who isn’t the greatest fan of football, this doesn’t mean much usually, though the Russian World Cup that ended recently has most likely ignited (or reignited) just a little bit of a passion for the beautiful game. Where else are we going to see Hamilton-esque haircuts? Anyway, it kicks off on the 10th of August.

You’ll be happy to know that Neymar does not play in the Premier League.

Seriously though, it’s not the worst form of entertainment, and at least it’s not quite as predictable 😉
